Our Local Heroes Foundation is all about making a difference.
Life can be hard, but you’ve got to live life with the hand you’ve been dealt and that’s exactly what our veterans do.
We help all British veterans from all of the armed services without exception.
We provide grants for people who have served in the forces and are now struggling on a daily basis.
Brave people are being killed or injured serving their country, but many make it home and have to adjust to life as a civilian.
Our aim is simple, we will help them in whatever way we can with whatever they need, to face the future and live as normal a life as possible in comfort without prejudice or hardship.
A life befitting a hero who’s sacrificed a part of themselves on behalf of us and our country.
The heart of the charity is about the community, here at OLHF we are very keen to encourage businesses, schools and local communities to get involved in the charity in a variety of ways. Keep a look out for events and projects with which you can be involved.
Founder of Our Local Heroes Foundation – Steve Pearson, joined the army as an electronics technician in REME, the royal electrical and mechanical engineers.
Steve was in the army 6 years and 9 months, Steve was fast tracked to become a commissioned officer through the royal military academy at Sandhurst. 18 months later Steve became one of the fastest promoted soldiers in REME.
The passion gained in the armed forces remains strong and can be evidenced by Our Local Heroes Foundation that was set up on the 20th May 2011. Steve takes great pride in all the good projects the charity is involved with and continues to be heavily involved in fundraising for the foundation.
